Child of the Wind

One of us is too old for the term, but I'll use it anyway...

Bruce Cockburn's 'Child of the Wind' has been close to me for a long time, and these days it's one of the few things giving me hope.

Is it possible in these times to raise a generation that embraces empathy, seeks wisdom, works to dismantle systemic inequality, cherishes the earth and loves people sacrificially?
So thankful for my fierce and fabulous mighty-girl, who makes me think there just might be a chance.

Home at Last (RIP Walter Becker)

Just over 40 years ago, Steely Dan released 'Aja' - an incredible, game-changing album that has been a huge influence for so many musicians.  For a number of years after college, I played in a SD tribute band, and learning those tunes inside and out was both a real education and joy.  After Walter Becker's passing, and to commemorate  the 40-year anniversary of the album, I've been spending some time with the tunes on Aja.  This little arrangement of 'Home at Last' is for all you Danners, and in memory of Walter.

Symphony shows with Darlene Love

It was a treat to spend the weekend playing with Darlene Love & the Omaha Symphony & Maestro Ernest Richardson. With the orchestra, singers, and band behind Darlene, it was like a live realization of Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.

Misappropriation Playlist

Waterloo Region friends! Looking forward to seeing some of you at this concert:) It's an eclectic programme featuring compositions by Joni Mitchell, Bruce Cockburn, improvisations on Domeniconi and Bach, and a tribute to Canadian icons The Tragically Hip.

Court & Spark: The Music of Joni Mitchell

Like some cosmic gift to the human race, poet/painter/musician Joni Mitchell interpreted the aching beauty of the human experience like few others.

I'm overjoyed to present two intimate concerts celebrating her unique musical voice and incredible spirit. Hoping to spend some time with you next weekend enjoying timeless masterpieces such as: Both Sides Now, River, Big Yellow Taxi and many more.

Also... Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving / Indigenous People's Day!

Running Red Rocks

We had some spare time before soundcheck in Denver, so naturally we took a quick road trip to visit Red Rocks and get some mile-high exercise! Always nice to be back in the Rockies :)
